Serving as a historical transportation and industrial district gives the neighborhood a distinctive characteristic with most residential spaces being converted loft space and the street patterns being intersected and informed by the rail line. 
 
Through the bricks and railway ties, the arts scene in Castleberry Hills flourishes. Known for its monthly self-guided Art Stroll, Castleberry Hill adds to the growing culture of Atlanta with dozens of art galleries open to the public and the largest concentration of black-owned businesses in America.
